Tenmoku Stripe Bowl
Kent-based ceramicist, James Galbraith Kirkpatrick, creates wheel-thrown functional pieces and objects that balance artistry and utility. A Fine Art graduate from Central Saint Martins and with a background in professional cooking, James’ work is featured in some of the top restaurants across the South East. His approach draws from both his artistic training and time in the kitchen, creating bespoke ceramics that elevate the everyday experience.
Crafted from a lightweight stoneware each of these wide rim bowls features a generous brushstroke of glaze. Rich treacle-brown in colour, James has used is a traditional Japanese ‘Tenmoku’ glaze. The minimal design allows the glossy glaze to contrast with the natural texture of the stoneware. A classic shape dish which would be ideally suited to starters, desserts, or nibbles.
