Tenkomu Glaze Dessert Bowl
Kent-based ceramicist, James Galbraith Kirkpatrick, creates wheel-thrown functional pieces and objects that balance artistry and utility. A Fine Art graduate from Central Saint Martins and with a background in professional cooking, James’ work is featured in some of the top restaurants across the South East. His approach draws from both his artistic training and time in the kitchen, creating bespoke ceramics that elevate the everyday experience.
Crafted from a lightweight, fine white clay each of these wide rim bowls has been glazed all over in a traditional Japanese ‘Tenmoku’ glaze. Due to the white clay underneath, you are able to really see the rich treacle-brown glaze which shows up darker and lighter in different areas depending on how thickly it’s been applied. A classic shape dish which would be ideally suited to starters, desserts, or nibbles.
